Why Animal Jewellery?

People often ask me, “Why did you choose to make animal jewellery?”

For me, the answer is easy — because animals have always been part of my life. Growing up surrounded by animals, I’ve always felt that deep connection to the countryside and the wonderful creatures that fill it. They're more than just animals — they’re part of our stories, our families, and our fondest memories.

When I started Fresh Fleeces, I wanted to create pieces that captured that feeling — the affection we feel for a loyal sheepdog, the nostalgia of childhood days on the farm, or the companionship of a much-loved pet who’s no longer by our side.

Animal jewellery is about more than looks.
It’s emotional. It’s personal.

It’s the moment someone sees our silver sheep pendant and says, “That reminds me of my grandad’s farm,” or the tearful thank you from someone who can now wear their dog’s memory close to their heart every day.

Every piece we make here in our Northern Ireland workshop tells a story — your story.
And I feel so lucky to help bring those stories to life in silver and gold.
