3 Golden Retrievers to Celebrate Sara's love of this breed
There is something especially lovely about a repeat customer. When someone comes back for another piece, it tells me the first one meant something. It was worn, loved, and became part of their life.
This time, the idea was beautifully simple. A piece to represent three golden retrievers, each one marking a different chapter. What I loved most was the thought behind it.
Not just three dogs together, but three dogs in the order they came into her life.
Sara mentioned she had been thinking about a brooch with three smaller retrievers grouped together. Then came the detail that made the piece truly meaningful:
“I’ll stick to two golds first and then a silver on the end because that’s the order my dogs have come in.”
That stayed with me. Because this was not just about likeness. It was about time, memory, and the story of a life shared with dogs.
I created the first two retrievers with warmth in mind, using 22ct gold plated silver to reflect their rich coats and the years they had already shared. The third, in silver, sat at the end of the line. A different tone, but just as important. A new chapter.
Each dog was carefully shaped so they felt connected, but still individual. Small enough to sit comfortably together, but with enough detail that each one held its own presence.
When the piece was finished, I found myself pausing, looking at the three of them together. It is a quiet kind of piece. At a glance, just three dogs. But for Sara, a whole story.
When it arrived, her message said everything it needed to:
“Thank you – arrived safely and it’s wonderful!”
Simple words, but they mean a lot.
Because when someone takes the time to come back, to trust you again with something so personal, and then to say it is wonderful, that is everything.
